After graduating from university with a bachelor’s degree in 1999, Tang Hanlin worked as a senior software engineer in CVICSE engaging in software development, and he was the earliest batch of Internet software development engineers in China. In 2004, Tang Hanlin and his friends co-founded Topen Group in Xujiahui, Shanghai, which engaged in database marketing and big data mining services. Tang Hanlin is the first group of entrepreneurs involved in the development and application of big data in China. He is also one of the few big data experts in the industry who is proficient in software development technology and well-versed in marketing. In April 2016, in response to the national big data development strategy, Tang Hanlin established China’s leading state-owned data asset agency operation service provider, Guizhou Shujubao Network Technology Co., Ltd. in Gui'an New District, Guizhou Province, which was the first comprehensive experimental area for big data of the country. It helped the government realize the governance, value-added, circulation, and integration of state-owned data so that state-owned data can generate value in circulation.

Tang Hanlin has successively provided big data application strategy consulting services for more than 200 well-known domestic and foreign companies, including the Financial Times, Reuters, Wall Street Journal, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, GUCCI, Martell, BMW, Shanghai Volkswagen, China’s Ping An Insurance, etc. Because of his outstanding contributions in helping state-owned data assets to increase, open, and share, he has been interviewed and reported by more than 100 mainstream media such as CCTV's Half Hour Economy, 21st Century Business Herald, Chinese Venture, Sino-Foreign Management, Xinhua News Agency, Big Data Industry Observation, China Business Network, Ifeng.com, 36Kr, Meihua.info and so on for many times.
